The U.S. Under-18 Women̢۪s National Team takes on Sweden in the gold-medal game of the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women̢۪s World Championship at the Ice Palace in Dmitrov, Russia. Puck drop is slated for 7:30 p.m. local time/11:30 a.m. ET. Today's game will be live streamed on the embedded video above. U.S. All-Time in U18WWC Gold Medal Games: 6-4 (W-L)

Of Note: For the first time ever, a European nation is guaranteed to earn either gold or silver at this event with the U.S. taking on Sweden in this year's gold-medal game. The U.S. is looking to become the first country to ever win four consecutive gold medals at the U18WWC.

Last Meeting vs. SWE: Jan. 6: USA 2, SWE 1 (OT): Makenna Webster (St. Louis, Mo.) scored 2:47 into overtime to lift Team USA to a 2-1 victory to open the tournament. The U.S., which outshot Sweden 59-13, also got a goal from Abbey Murphy (Evergreen Park, Ill.)

TEAM USA IN GOLD-MEDAL GAME PLAY
Team USA, who has now made the gold-medal game of the IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship for all 11 years of its existence, is meeting someone other than Canada for the first time in the event's title game. The U.S. owns a 6-4 record all-time in gold-m edal games, and is looking to become the first country to win four consecutive gold medals in this competition with a win today.

TOURNAMENT LEADERS
Makenna Webster (St. Louis, Mo.) is tied for third among all skaters with seven points, while her five assists are tied for second. Taylor Heise (Lake City, Minn.) ranks second among all skaters in the competition with four goals.

DRAMATIC SEMIFINAL WIN
Team USA rallied from a two-goal deficit in the final period yesterday to top Canada, 4-3, in a shootout to advance to the gold-medal game. Britta Curl (Bismarck, N.D.) and Webster each scored in the shootout, while Lindsay Reed (New Vernon, N.J.) stopped the final four shots she faced to seal the victory. Third-period goals by Casey O'Brien (Milton, Mass.) and Kelly Browne (Burlington, Mass.) tied the contest for Team US A. For a complete game recap, highlights & postgame comments, click here.
