The New York Excelsior officially announced Monday that South Korean Hwang "Fl0w3R" Yeon-oh will join the team for Season 2 of the Overwatch League.

Formerly known as nanohana, the highly-respected DPS player built a strong reputation while playing for Luxury Watch Red and Blue in South Korea. He played Season 1 and Season 2 for NYXL's Contenders team, XL2 Academy, and was part of the South Korean team that beat Team Canada in the finals of BlizzCon 2017.

NYXL signed the rest of the LW Blue team and announced in November 2017 that although he was not eligible to play in Season 1 due to being only 17 at the April 5 deadline this year, Fl0w3R would play for the team in the future.

Recognized as one of the best young talents in Overwatch, the 18-year-old Fl0w3R will be eligible for the Feb. 14 start of Season 2.

"Roses are red. Violet s are blue. Our firepower is world class, @Fl0w3RGOD has joined the NYXL crew," the organization tweeted Monday. "Please join us in welcoming him to the squad. #EverUpward"

NYXL won Stage 2 and Stage 3 during the inaugural season of the OWL but lost to the Philadelphia Fusion in the semifinals.

The Excelsior have since parted with former head coach Kim "WizardHyeong" Hyeong-seok and Song "Janus" Joon-hwa, but the addition of Fl0w3r to the DPS lineup along with fellow South Korean Park "Saebyeolbe" Jong-ryeol will make the Excelsior one of the clear favorites heading into Season 2.
